Indeed, as israel keeps the drum beat rolling for an attack against Iran, the rest of the world sees far graver calamities waiting to unfold. Including another financial meltdown, the approaching peak oil (see recent study from the US army environmental agency) and relentless global warmong and ocean acidification. Israel is indeed alone in its dispute with Iran - which the world just does not see as much of a danger to anything other than Israeli hegemony. That israel is a deeply paranoic entity seems an immutable variable. But there are other cures to paranoia short of killing a bunch of other people. Israel could, for example, join the NPT - just as Iran has. That just MIGHT give it more than half a leg to stand on when it calls for tough sanctions. Think of it as a psychotropic drug which might allow the country to act rationally - at least for a time. Letting go of the occupation is another good potential cure. Unfortunately even the pre-trials have not started yet on this one.
