Excellent points. Aside from all the other reasons that the US should long since have stopped basing its foreign policy on what is good for the Israelis, consider the possibility of a future backlash directed against Jews in the US once enough non-Jewish Americans get fed up with the harm that policy does to the US. If you think it can’t happen here, you are fooling yourself. And all stemming from our cold-war era desire keep the Russians in check in the Middle East and our ongoing oil addiction. The Israelis are a convenient tool for the US to advance its own agenda -- and vice versa.
