I had the merit to a combat soldier in Golani 1971-1974 & in Syria when they attacked us.Our unit re-took the Hermon Mountian. In reserves I was a that high up fort a few times. No one ever did these things in Golani then. I have heard or read news of especially Golani, a few soldiers here,a few there doing similar.Simple back then soldiers came from large families, had no car, drugs rare.Today an average child is the one and only family's child, no discipline in school, drugs, computer war games. 2 things solve the problem.1,make sure that there is an available line to brigade HQ & a person to hear complaints. 2, Make the punishments for this behaviour much higher & throw the guys out of the army with are file of poor behaviour which follows them for life.
