The a priori assumption of Creationists and Intelligent Design adherents is that if something marvelous and complex exists, it must have been created by Someone. This is an assumption based on human experience, from acquaintance with Man's works. Such people find it impossible to accept the possibility that the Universe might have come into existence through countless random occurrences. But explaining random occurrences should be the province of scientists, not of theologians.
