No surprise here. Haaretz has given many word space to the anti-settlement movement and they can now gloat. I just read the 'Give back territory and kill Arabs' article. Not so subtle is the Haaretz strategy, to represent Olmert as the rightful heir-apparent, while pretending some measure of journalistic impartiality. But in the end, this is a time of victory for the secular Israeli. The Amona incident was quietly dismissed as right-wing extremists and the Biblical sites just do not seem to be a viable strategy in our practicable security plan. In the end, the voices of reason have won. You know, those voices that said, "Are you nuts? There are giants in that land of milk and honey! Life isn't that bad in the desert." Or something like that. Anyway, I am sorry for my many friends in the settlements. The people I know and love are not anything like Haaretz portrays them to be. G-d bless them.
