Of course American Jews willnot give up on Israel -BUT given health issues--especially the costs of looking after aging parents and the problematical jobs picture you HAVE TO PUT YOUR OWN ability to cope and srvive ahead of the cousins who live far away. YOU can help IF YOU CAN--but if worriedeabout your own ability to survive nd cope you must TCB first --once that is handled without worry, you may THEN worry about helping your cousins..THIS is a NATURAL human response and if the situation was reversed Israelis would do the same thing --take care of themselves and their parents BEFORE being able to take care of the cousins afar... This does nt mean some Jews are not in bed at night worrying about Israel --but if worried whether they willbe able to pay for papa anmd mama in the nursing home, put their own kids through college still ,have a jgood job,let alone worry about their own retirements ---well which woories do YOU THINK keep them awake at night? Israel has to take a seat at the back on the line. If American Jews were not worried about their own "situations" then Israel would be back at the frron of the line of worries...This is not "giving up" on Israel..THIS IS REALITY>
