I been paying attention to wars for a long time. As a kid I watched the Suez war. I remember standing on the sand dunes watching the ships sail out of Norfolk for the Lebanon crisis in 1958. I watched the Vietnam Fiasco, and during it the Six Day War and the Yom Kippur War. Yes, I am watching a competition. Asymmetrical warfare, and I have a score card in hand so to speak. I watch for indications of strategy and tactics. Organization, logistics, and politics. War is real. Not a game. The losses are real. Anyone who cheers for war has marbles missing. Some wars are necessary, but anyone who engages in unnecessary war is a fool. Unfortunately we have a lot of fools leading countries on the anti-Islamicists side of the struggle right now. Their actions are consistently driven by a belief in brut force, and a lack of any strategic plan. Americans are dying from Bush's incompetence. Israelis are dying for Olmert's incompetence. Only a fool helps his enemy.
