Why stop at half-measures, the arbitrary pre-67 borders? Remember that the heroic and united Arab armies of liberation gathered around the zionist enemy in 1967 in order to achieve a complete liberation of Palestine and the expulsion of the surviving colonists. They were betrayed by the Jews and this lead to their tragic loss. In the mids of this tragedy, they knew how to keep their dignity: they refused to accept any territories back in exchange of peace or even the recognition of the zionist entity. Thus, they forced the zionist entity into holding on to these territories, which will eventually fasten this entitys demise. A truly courageous and progressive American leadership, of the kind that Gideon Levy could dream up, could undo the entire tragedy and achieve final harmony and peace in the ME. Such a courageous American leadership could also do countless other things that would please the progressive forces in the Arab world. One can just dream of the boundless possibilities.
