The woman was never locked up. She entered the country illegally and held in custody until her deportation could be arranged as is STANDARD POLICY WORLDWIDE. If your not allowed into the country we plan to deport you but in the mean time enjoy your stay in Israel. She is the one who has been resisting deportation which is why she is still in custody rather than back in the UK. When she was released for deportation after the incident with the Mavi Mamara she signed a document agreeing she would not attempt to enter Israel for the next 10 years. She was directly attempting to breach that agreement when she came to Israel and like ALL INDEPENDENT STATES Israel exercised its rights and refused to let her into the country. The fact she has a Nobel Prize is not a special visa which allows her to dictate what will or will not be done. Both the Mavi Mamara and the latest boats were boarded to be brought to an Israeli port for inspection of cargo and then delivered overland. They made their intend clear from the start they planned to try breach a legal military blockade and under international law in such an instance boarding is legal even in international waters. Gideon if you were living in Sderot or any other town within range or the rocket attacks you would be grateful for the stopping and searching of these ships to make sure there is no illegal cargo aboard which be weaponized ... until the ship is searched we have no idea what is aboard only claims its all legitimate. Other countries carrying out military blockades also stop and board ships trying to breach the blockade not just Israel. Stop twisting the facts to defend the actions of these idealists.
