The Gaza Strip is watching to see what lessons to take from Israel's decision. Will it be profitable to capture more prisoners for lopsided exchange? How can they get the upper hand? One way to get to win-win is to negotiate a lower number for the exchange. Then, when Hamas will makes that number very public as proof of success of its strategy, release many more than this as an Israeli commitment toward peace. Only then can Israel take credit for the release, not Hamas. This also gives Israel another bargaining chip toward the future. Israel has demonstrated a visible move toward peace in good faith, and now it is Hamas' turn to demonstrate its own commitment to peace or turn back again toward endless violence. The world waits for an answer.
