Israel was never a 'Western' country. It took some ideas from the West but to believe that it is part of the 'Judeo-Christian', common Western descriptor, is dream. There is no hyphen connection between the two given the amount and duration of violence from the second half of that hyphened name to the Judeo part. If as you contend that Israel was part of the West why didn't the West intervene in 1967 to prevent war? Xmas is celebrated here in the 'West'. Not Hannukah.
