I've visited Berlin a number of times. I'm an American, an artist, and I speak German because my parents were German Jews. There are many nice people in Berlin, and I really do like the city, but unfortunately, there is still a strain of Nazi mind-set among a small minority of Germans which I find creepy and repulsive. It's quiet and not openly expressed (usually), but I know it is there. I find some people's comments on Israel going over the top. Yes, food is expensive there, but Israel is still a great country, wonderful and special in so many ways.
