I was born in Germany in 1958, and grew up both horrified by the atrocities committed during the Third Reich, and convinced that such evil could never happen again. You write: "Auschwitz taught us the depths to which men can descend when they dehumanize their fellow beings." Does Israel want to sink anywhere close to such depths? I just read Israeli soldiers' 'Breaking the silence', and the reports about the new deportation plans for Palestinians as 'infiltrators' from the West Bank and Gaza. Apparently, they will be expelled or imprisoned for not having the right IDs, as reported in Haaretz, and numerous other sources. I confess that for the first time in my life, I feel outraged at Israel. Am I an anti-Semite now? Is it congential because I am German, or has Israel gone nuts?
