Gerard, Wrong. Actually, Israel's last preemptive strike was when it destroyed Iraq's nuclear program in '81 and after Saddam invaded and occupied Kuwait that was looking like a pretty smart move. How much further would a nuclear Iraq have gone if we hadn't acted. Maybe Saddam would be ruling in Saudi Arabia if we hadn't acted. I mean if he had nukes who would have gotten him out. In '73 Israel bowed to U.S. pressure and failed to preempt this resulted in the '73 Yom Kippur War. While Israel eventually won the war and destroyed the Syrian and Egyptian armies, the price of victory would have been much less if we had preempted.
