"There has been no shortage of atrocities throughout history, but a preplanned liquidation according to a well-thought-out program aimed at wiping an entire nation off the earth - that had not yet occurred." I wish I could agree that were the case. Sad to say, there have been such preplanned "liquidations" before (Armenians, American Indians), and have been since (Cambodia, Rwanda). This doesn't make the Holocaust any less tragic, but is a solemn reminder that the world we live in can be a dark one.
