Please check Federal News Service for transcript of what general Petraeus actually said and/or Commentary Magazine and/or google. He did not say what many are reporting and although he is in command, he is far from loved by our currently authoritarian government. I don't think he is against Israel BUT please let me know since he is rumored to be among potential GOP presidential candidates. I am very tired of our current administration rife with anti-Semites and self-hating Jews and want to avoid that. Like most Jews from NY,I was raised a knee-jerk liberal...and then, I grew up. Trust me, we have far more reliable support among Conservatives and yet our people persist in supporting the Democratic Party. Just go to their site njdc.org and try to find a single assessment that disagrees with their opinion. They rationalize everything from Jimmy Carter to Obama's snub of Netanyahu and refuse to discuss it on any level--no comments are posted, no emails or phone calls returned!
