I don't know where this assumption comes from that I want to sacrifice Israel for the Armenians or for Darfur or for any other place in Africa, but rest assured that that is not true. I support Israel. But I also fail to see why a Jewish organization cannot take a moral position on an issue without people linking it to Israel's position. Israel and the American Jewish community are two different communities and neither speaks for the other. That doesn't mean that the American Jewish community does not support Israel when we differ; it does not mean that I don't support Israel simply because I oppose genocide, regardless of the victim group. Frankly, I am getting a little sick of being demonized here as a "Leftist Internationalist Humanist Jew who does not care about Israel" because it's not true, and you are well aware of this. Perhaps if you could be a little more civil with me we could have a more constructive conversation.
