It is rare to see as much hatred as is posted by those who fear any exposure of Israel's warts. Hatred against those who dare to speak out, hatred against the dispossessed Palestinians, hatred against those who believe in justice for both peoples, both of whom have an equal claim to the land. Gideon Levy is a courageous journalist who dares to tell the truth about the brutal occupation and its effect on the average Palestinian. Had his words been heeded years ago many lives may well have been saved. As for the cowed US Congress, fearful that any vote against the interests of Israel may make them a target of AIPAC,looked like puppets as they leaped to their feet in support of Olmert. One would have thought that it was the Second Coming rather than just a politician bent on securing more land for his country at the expense of a people who had lived there for centuries. As an American and as a Jew I find it impossible to disagree with Levy.
