Christians support Israel for a variety of reasons ranging from guilt through theological reasoning. Plenty do so simply because they are convinced that the Jews have the stronger argument. When confronted with a man like Hagee, who bases his support for Israel on religious conviction, Jews are scared of two possible things; a) that it's all a put on to lull us into defecting from our faith and b) that the antisemitic flavor of Christianity (so well known to us for the last 2,000 tears) lurks just under the surface. Having met Hagee's supporters I can attest that (for the vast majority) neither of these concerns are valid. His article is a fair statement of his views as he has expressed and acted on them for decades. Here is one Jew who is grateful for all the friends he can get in a world that is often very hostile.
