Are you suggesting that the late Anwar Sadat had consulted with his people before he embarked on his ill-fated visit to Jerusalem in and when he concluded the Camp David treaty? Arab people would love to have democratically elected governments that represent the will of the people. Did you know that over 99% of Egyptians are against the Camp David treaty and that any freely elected government first act would be to declare it nil and void and expel the Israeli ambassador from Cairo? Of course you never thought about that.
