That is: It doesn't seem impossible that the importance of Israel as the Western fortress in the middle east is decreasing because the ties between the US and "the East" are improved. It is my fear that the US might be interested in a strategic cooperation with Iran rather than in opposing the authoritarian system: The strategic cooperation between the US and Saudi-Arabia showed us, that things like these are possible. That is: I wonder if Israel can still rely on the US as THE ally par excellence because Israel also has no raw materials. That is: I think Syria and Israel should soon end their quarrel, otherwise they are at risk of being outpaced.
