"Even if the Universe is flawed as a 2nd grader's science project, well, it could still be 'somebody's science project.'" Are you implying that The Creator - A Perfect Being in every way - is working at it's project - the universe - and hasn't gotten it right yet? If so, doesn't this lead us to conclude that this Perfect Being is not so perfect, after all? Again, I ask, why must the universe have to have a creator? What is wrong with eternity? Simply because we have trouble "thinking" eternity is no excuse to reject this possibility out of hand. Indeed, we seem to have no trouble "thinking" God when we have no idea, short of inadequate anthropomorphic representations, what this Being is. It seems that everyone has an opinion about God. Why is the idea of a universe without beginning or end so difficult to accept? Is it because we would be left alone, wholly responsible for our acts and what we make of our own human reality? And, the fact that we discern patterns in Nature - laws - means that We are intelligent, nothing more.
