A not-impossible timeline :- Israel increasingly falls under the control of ultra-nationalists and moves towards theocracy. The hundreds of thousands who fail to support this and can will leave. Economically and militarily Israel will fail. For the Jews left in the region it will ultimately be a return to pre-state days with pockets of ultra-orthodox remaining. How would Israel's failure to sustain the dream of a Jewish homeland affect diaspora Jewry? It will either dilute the spirit of Judaism within us - or not? .
