it's clear as day you haven't been to the u.s. for i don't know, 10 years or more? every israeli i speak with is carrying empty suitcases to the united states. if israel wanted to increase our GNP, they'd take a look at why a pair of jeans or a sweater at an israeli mall has to cost 4-5 times what it costs in the u.s., even though the israeli version is such poor quality it's truly third world... israelis aren't stupid and they aren't friarim. they know what they want, they understand quality, and they realize all too well it can't be found here for any price, since stores are able to sell cheaper-made goods for more money here. maybe it's the meches? i don't know, as israeli restaurants and cafes are also WAY overpriced. end of the day, going to the u.s. is like going to india - it's much much cheaper and the stuff is better. israelis like our quality of life here, so they go shopping there and come back. that's reality.
