"First off, whatever death and destruction Iran inflicts on Israel will be paid back to Iran tenfold. The Iranians know that." In war, Dave, such considerations don't come into it. If Israel/America attacks Iran - a clear act of unprovoked aggression - Iran would hit back as hard as it could. Crippling the Israeli economy by putting its two oil refineries at Haifa and Ashdod out of action would make excellent strategic sense, irrespective of any likely Israeli response. I would certainly put these two refinery complexes at the top of my list of targets if I were the Iranian president. "I`d much rather see a full-scale economic and political boycott slapped on Iran than a military strike." A boycott would only work if no-one bought Iranian oil. This won't happen since the world needs the stuff. Sanctions won't work.
