He's actually DONE absolutely nothing toward that end. As Defense Minister, he largely responsible for IDF activity in the occupied West Bank. So how many illegal settlements/outposts have been removed? How many illegal structures demolished - other than Palestinian, of course - and how many building permits have been issued to Palestinians? Same with Syria. He's often said it would behoove Israel to pursue that peace that Assad has offered, but as Defense Minister did he ever push for it? Nope. So yeah he talks a good talk - very pragmatic, openminded, and enlightened - but that's IT, because there's nothing else there...he just talks.
