Agree generally, but for one thing: "the iraqi war was well intentioned but the result has been abysmal" The war was far from well-intentioned. Is there as single person in the universe who doubts this invasion was to secure oil, rearrange the middle east according to US and Israel preferences? WMD's were a lie that the adminisrtration knew and most of us suspected strongly. Bring democracy to Iraq was just lip service. A few naive ideologues may have convinced themselves that this was a good purpose (the NYT columnist among them, at the beginning). But this was not exactly the goal of the original war mongers - Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Faith, Pearl etc. The fact that this goal is moving further away daily is not an unintended conseqiuence but a fully predicted one. Right now, Saddam looks OK when compared to Bush atrocities. Peas in a pod, if you ask me.
