No consequence is too unpleasant. Yes, there will be protacted war, many casualties, terror attacks, rockets etc, and Israel will need many years of effort. But that is better than national suicide. Iran will definitely utilize nuclear weapons to demoralize Israel, continue its delegitimization, intimidate any country doing business with Israel, empower Hezbollah and Hamas to make wars of attrition that will wear away Israel, promote 'flottilas' and the like, until its goal is accomplished - the dismantling of the 'Zionist regime'. Most self-respecting Israelis (ie not the post-Zionists) would prefer to fight as long as it takes, and it won't be forever. Eventually the many national minorities in Iran, about half the population, often suppressed and oppressed, will break away and form independent countries or join with their brethren elsewhere (for example the Kurds), and the problem will be more tractable.
