You think "Justice" would allow the moderate elements of the Palastinian ethos to come forward? You think people fight because of systematic human rights abuses? You are, indeed, a blinkered romantic. Where is the uprising of the masses of sub-Saharan Africa, one of the most oppressive places on earth? Where were the moderates urging Arafat to sign onto the Camp David accords establighing 2 state solution along the Clinton parameters? Just recently, Abbas had to pull back from comments indicating the right of return was not sacrosanct. You have no business substituting your theories for the actual dynamics on the ground simply because they make you feel good. You utterly underrate just how powerful Palastinian xenophobia and paranoia are and how Palastinain politicians play to it and formulate their policy around it even though you have Hamas in Gaza staring you in the face. High mindedness untempered by reality is flabby thinking. And don't assume that my critique is coming from the right. It is not.
