Sad sad sad. There is just one thing I don't get: Why would Israel do that? Isn't it obvious that letting Chomsky perform his speach at Bir Zeit had cost Israel less "harm" than preventing him, a world-famous intellectual, from entering Israel thus perhaps causing huge international Media coverage? One would think that the incident with the spanish clown showed the Israeli government that it's sometimes better (in cases like that which are almost surely not security-related at all) to give in than to cause a huge international uproar. Mistakes are made so that humans can learn and not make them again the next time. Apparently, this does not hold true for the Israeli government.
