I served the IDF during the few sad years following the Yom Kippur war. At the time, we felt, as hardened combar soldiers, that only a combination of force and diplomacy could slowly bring peace to the region. I still feel this way. The IDF soldiers we have seen fight in Libanon are of the highest calibre. The politicians have chosen to hold back the might of he IDF to leave some room for diplomacy. This is a good thing. This kind of balance must be maintained.
