Hamas has felt Egypt coming to its rescue. The new military regime is realligning itself with Iran, and the Muslim Brotherhood will be the winning party in september's elections, even though it won't be with its explicit candidate. That's why Hamas allows itself to say a resounding "no" to Palestinian unity talks. And it does so by bombing Israel. It's the ultimate terrorist cynicism. Israel needed to respond in kind, and I hope that the response inflicted such damage in the terrorist infrastracture of Hamas, that it will think twice before "dialoguing" with Hamas via bombing Israel.
