UNR 1701 was a fig leaf to allow both sides to stop the war. Neither Israel or Hizbollah has complied with it. The UN and Lebanese Army are making life a lot more difficult for Hizbollah, but Hisbollah has the home court advantage. The Haaretz censor did not find my jest about Hisbollah 'rolling' a Very Large Bomblet into their house amusing. It was clear from the information provided that a left over Israeli bomblet was not the source of the explosion. The claim that it was constituted another act in the Mideast Theater of the Absurd. And so does UNR 1701 which neither side honors and both intended to violate when they signed it.
