Nick, you overestimate the power the Palestinians retain to extend "legitimacy" to Israel. Israel, though lacking in friends in the Int'l Community, already has its legal status, two treaties with Arab states, and powerful trading relationships across the world. A peace deal and acceptance from the Palestinians is very desirable, but its absence has not really prevented Israel's growth and development. The Palestinians, on the other hand, through their infighting and extremism, are losing credibility and friends even faster than Israel has. Its wrong to take pleasure in an adversary's suffering. I hope they both finally feel the impetus to compromise and make a deal.
