ReasonI, n case you don't understand 'defensive', it means they were attacked and they defended themselves against Arab attack. Indeed Israel has nukes which are for defense purposes. It has never announced it has nukes although it is clear that they do have a considerable arsenal to defend themselves. Indeed, even if Iran had nuclear weapons and attacked Israel with them, Israel has such weapons on submarines. Hence, it is highly unlikely that Iran would ever attack Israel directly since it would mean the end of Iran and possibly most of its population of 75 million. More dangerous is the possibility that Iran would sneak a nuclear bomb into Israel. A missile launched version would be shot down by either the US or Israel. Look for the US to announce a new anti ballistic missile system for the Middle East with the specific goal of shooting down Iran missiles. Hence current events are highly unlikely to be a real problem for Israel or other US friends in the region; just something for Netanyahu to look foolish about.

Why Barak regrets speaking out on Iran

There was no security breach in what the former defense minister said about how an attack was thwarted; what has suffered is mainly Israel’s image as a well-run, normal country whose leaders are capable of keeping a secret.

A visit to the world's bagel capital is a chance to marvel at how this unassuming Jewish-Ashkenazi food has come from its 17th-century beginnings.
