I don't deny that there are parallels, but I'm not sure the situations mentioned at the beginning of the article are exactly alike. Was Cast Lead aimed at releasing Shalit? I thought it was about stopping rocket fire? In any case, yes the U.S. should be open to fact-finding missions, if appropriate, but shouldn't Israel too? Can you really demand that the U.S. co-operate with something when Israel refused to do so?
