Conifers are indeed native to the area (Cedars of Lebanon) - the native trees were all cut down by the Ottomans to make railroad ties for the Hejaz Railroad 100 years ago. And I can tell you from the example of wildfires hitting commercial olive orchards here in California (similar climate and wind-driven Chamsin fire problem as Israel) that "native" oil-rich olive trees burn like napalm when ignited by wildfire. Last but not least - the historic Arab villages are still thriving on Mt. Carmel (Issifiyya is not a kibbutz), and Jewish firemen are risking their lives to save them while you spead your filth.
