    i agree with Dan Rabinowitz on the facts. what's going on in darfur is a shame for the western world and big playes like china and russia. it is even more shame for the arab world, although they have no shame and do not care.however, Dan Rabinowitz and the reports he uses, look for wrong answers because they don't dare asking right questions. the sahara desert trip south started over 1000 years ago with the arab envasion. just like here, the arabs and their cattle destroyed much of the vegetaion and turned fertile areas, milk and honey, into deserts. lack of food usually results in the population decrease, however, in the modern history it is not nice to leave 'extra' people die from hunger. so, much food and medications is being funneled where it 'shouldn't be'. hence, population explosion. add to this modern methods of warfare and transportation that allow for killing thousands, compared to dozens a century ago, in a short time. btw, what dying culture is author talking about...
