Y'know, that was surprisingly hateful and narrow-minded, even for Ha'aretz. Sarid doesn't make an argument against defeating the extremist haredim so much as he groups all forms of religious Jews into one homogenous and evil group, without bothering to make the difference between the haredim that actually contribute to society and those that are out to destroy it. He's just making it into a chiloni vs. everyone else argument, when in fact it's crazy haredi extremists vs. everyone else. Don't forget that we level-headed National Religious are as much against the destruction of our religion as we all are against the destruction of our society.
