Now I have your attention, lets put somethings straight: 1) Settlers are not extremists - the government gave people the choice to live there, and they accepted. The vast vast vast majority are law abiding people (as in all countries). 2) Israel has strict gun laws and allows people to carry guns if needed. People who live in 'dangerous' areas are allowed to own a gun (as long as they pass rigorous testing and profiling). So many men already own guns for their own safety (and very little shooting incidents occur unlike in schools in the US). The fact that there are so few incidents compared to US, UK (where guns aren't even allowed!), Norway, shows these people are responsible. 3)Giving the settlers these extra non-lethal deterrents will help prevent a full intifada and help to prevent a loss of lives.
