I take it that Mazuz has made a "reasonable" decision when he agreed to the plea-bargain. Another AG might have preferred to file a more loaded indictment, but given that a number of prosecutors agree with Mazuz, his decision should be considered within reason. The law gives the Attorney General the authority to decide on such indictments. As long as he acts within reason, the Court will not override his decision. Too bad, but at least Katzav has lost all the respect he used to have, and perhaps all the privileges of a retired president.
