The results suggest Iran's next parliament will be more supportive of President Rohani's drive for economic reforms, but conservatives will remain a powerful force.13:31 30.04.16 | 0 comments
Besides having extremely genius and liberal relatives who worried about our going to one of them fancy schools and coming out bigots and snobs, I was lucky (although not being a genius) to have taken a course in existentialist philosophy at a good univ. with a professor who was into a dog fight with positivists at Harvard in the 60's. Today maybe I appreciate this better. I later took a course at Harvard with one of these positivists and Harvard is still positivist I think (same old problem, genetics vs. free choice). The schools do raise lawyers and doctors to be "evil"; the doctors and lawyers need a course in ethics and also the personal morality to follow them. Why else do we have the Wall Street crooks and doctor Mengeles? Existentialism is my philosophy, which grew up after WWII and Hitler. It discusses morality, free choice, feelings, bias. You have a choice to be a good and moral human being; maybe you learn that from mom and dad, church and school.
