The Gaza situation was in dire need of remedy - and alot's been done to that effect. However, the sudden shift of focus, and the concerted drive being maintained towards it, is leaving the West Bank, and the actual root of the problem, completely out of the limelight. There's only ONE possible winner of THAT particular development. Why in the hell can't the international community exert the same sort of influence to effect the creation of the Palestinian state? This focus on Gaza is almost beginning to appear like a decoy - and worse yet - perhaps even an orchestrated concession to be used by Israel to buy an easing of pressure for the end of its occupation in the WB. This was Sharon's original intention. They need to push for improving the situation in Gaza; yes! But NOT at the expense of the bigger picture; which will only serve the aims of the Israeli right and the WB settlers!
