Everything isbeautiful in its own way. I always taught my children that beggars should be seen as opportunities for tzedaka. But...yesh gavul, there IS a boundary. At some point and in some places, the papparazi of the professionally poor could do with some restraint. Being swarmed by schnorers, habadniks asking you to lay tefillin and a host of other intrusive characters does not make for an atmosphere conducive to kavannah. I go to the kotel to pray, to have a transcendent spiritual moment, but not to be transformed into an ATM machine.
