There is still one thing to add. Indeed it is true that the Left in Paris mobilized instantneously in defense of the legitimate right of workers to enjoy their pension funds at 60 not 62. At the same time no mobilization in Paris will come in support of the Roma (gypsies )being expelled from the country. Not a single person in Paris will demonstarte in favor of Muslim women being stigmatized with the burka law. No Israel left ( even those heartly supporting a Palestinian state and fighting against settlements) will rally in favor of Israel arabs quest for full equality and for a redefinition of national symbols. It seems that the new developments in Left-Wing headquarters, maybe could be defined as a "blessing" development ( depends the angle you look at it) . The left is rediscovering the nation and popular feelings towards the issue of national identity. We could add that under a rational criteria becoming nationalist is not bad at all. If the left wants to rule again, it should do what Sternhel demands at the socioeconomic level, and should do exacty the opposite of what Sternhell requests at the political identity level.
