I have no doubt that successive Israeli leaders have used fear to keep themselves in power, and unfortunately it has worked so well that this fear endangers any prospects of peace for this little nation. Fear and suspicion go hand in hand and then the "ghetto mentality" takes hold. Unfortunately, this mentality is growing in the diaspora, and there is a real danger of anti-semitism raising it's ugly head. Not because people are against jews, but because they are awful, intolerant human beings. Moderate Israelis and jews in the diaspora need to take back the dialogue.
