Nearly every delegate at the Tel Aviv conference is happy to declare their belief in the two-state solution, and to explain why it's not yet possible.18:45 11.02.16 | 0 comments
The Gladstone report is not the basis of any important UN decisions as far as I know, and I cannot imagine any UN decisions in the crucial months ahead that will be based on it. If this bustle by the Jewish lobby in Congress is meant somehow to influence Obama's decisions concerning the upcoming Quartet meeting, it won't work. Obama must have already made his decisions and I am sure he has already garnered for it enough acceptance among leaders of the Jewish community in the US. If Israel's government is behind the move, it could be to send the message that Israel still controls Congress. In the short run this would be good for local consumption, but unlikely to impress the Palestinians. It really is a waste of time.
