Making Issawi stay indefinitely in the area near his home is just another form of imprisonment. This is almost the same type of punishment meted out to Mordachai Vannunu who after seving 18 years in prison, 11 of those years in solitary confinement, is not permitted to leave Israel even though that is his strongest desire. Were Jonathan Pollard to be released but not allowed to leave the US or even the place where he lived at the time of his arrest there is no doubt but what Israelis and many Jews around the world would be in an uproar.
