The European Union includes two members of the UN Security Council, England and France. They are all UN members. Wars in the region affect Europe. It's illegal for Israel to hold on to East Jerusalem. It's considered occupied territory according to UN Security Council resolutions, the Geneva Convention, the Hague etc.... They are only expressing what has been stated legally on an international level, but they didn't have the courage to express that to Israel that acts above the law and feels that international law shouldn't be allowed to Israeli Jews, only Arabs of the region like Lebanon (UN Resolution 1701), and their supporters cite the partition idea from the GA (General Assembly), but they reject everything else from the U.N. If Israel wants an Israel and and not one mixed state, then it should compromise.
