interestingly enough, many western european countries have laws like that, also outlawing the possession of swastikas and other 3rd Reich symbols. These law came to pass by the will of the respective people. These laws are much more protective towards minorities etc. then those in the US. Still, in Israel many right-wingers are quick in dismissing any european criticism of Israeli politics as coming from THE anti-semitic continent per se, slandering Europeans as anti-semits by birth. But the US, where open praise of Hitler etc. is not a crime, is an island of saints (as long as they don't complain about the settlements). hypocritical, isn't it.
